CreaComp Digital Creative Literacy Framework

Competency 3.2

Build a voice and a narrative identity

Boundary everything that precedes making. As soon as it becomes a matter of executing, producing or publishing, we move into the Make domain.

Definition

Developing a singular point of view and a coherent editorial identity, recognisable over time — what distinguishes a creator from a mere producer of content. In a space saturated with statistically average content, voice is the only advantage that strengthens as tools become ordinary.

Components

  • Identifying your distinctive themes, values and tone
  • The “creator sentence”: who I am, whom I create for, about what, from which unique perspective
  • Coherence over time: holding a point of view without freezing into it
  • Differentiation: existing in a saturated space without escalation
  • Distinguishing an authentic voice from a front persona; evolving without rupture

The four levels

  1. N1 Discovery Lower secondary · complete beginner

Is able to identify what distinguishes the creators they admire, and to name their own interests, values and tone.

    Evidence of assessment

Write a comparative portrait of two creators they follow, and a five-line self-portrait.

  2. N2 Application Upper secondary · advanced beginner

Is able to write their creator sentence and to produce content that conforms to it.

    Evidence of assessment

Write their creator sentence and produce three pieces of content demonstrating alignment.

  3. N3 Adaptation Tertiary · junior professional

Is able to maintain coherence of point of view over several months, perceptible to their audience.

    Evidence of assessment

Submit a three-month body of work; coherence attested by analysis and by third-party feedback.

  4. N4 Orchestration Experienced professional

Is able to be identifiable to their audience without a signature, and to hold that voice across several formats and registers without diluting it.

    Evidence of assessment

Pass an attribution test (work recognised without a signature) across three different formats.
